KTSU presented its 19th Annual Tennis Tournament that kicked off Mothers Day weekend, Friday, May 11th and went thru Sunday, May13th .  Over 300 participants from all over the United States were in attendance again this year.  The KTSU Tennis Tournament has become one of the most popular tennis tournaments among tennis players from around the country.  Tennis players come from sixteen different states.  It’s the largest African-American sponsored tournament in the United States.

The tournament completed its seventeenth year under the direction of Ken Groovey.  The tournament is a part of the WWTC (Weekend Warriors Tennis Circuit), which is a group of tennis clubs from several states.  The tournament features 24 different events for men and women singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Our goal is to promote the development of tennis as a means of healthful recreation and physical fitness for all persons and to cooperate with the tennis association and other associations in the pursuit of these aims.
